Finally, someone in the major media has made the reference without nicety or too much explication, that is, he made a real (and relevant!) literary allusion. In listing Pres. Bush's lies and convolutions Oberman says, "Oh, and one more to add, tonight: 'Oceania has always been at war with East Asia.' Mr. Bush, this is madness." How I've longed for just this nod.
